Fish Creek Falls in Steamboat Springs, CO
This is a spectacular 283 foot waterfall located just a few miles outside of the city. The photo above is the first falls. It is easily accessible for almost anyone via overlooks and wide easily traveled paths. Accessibility to outside adventures is sometimes difficult for the elderly and the disabled. That is not the case here. Everyone can enjoy the falls.
Fish Creek Falls Trailhead #1102
The trail is a lot of varied terrain. It starts at the bottom of the first fall and continues for many miles into the wilderness. Some is easy to travel dirt paths that are well worn from the crowds. As you travel farther, the trail increases elevation quickly and veers away from Fish Creek for a while. When it returns to the creek's side, it is rocky and not for the faint of heart.
Heading in to the 2nd falls
Here are two views of the creek from the trail as I headed to the 2nd falls.
Upper Fish Creek Falls
The 2nd falls can be a little deceptive. It is not as big or spectacular as the first falls. The beauty is in the area beyond the 2nd falls.

Spectacular views of the valley, Steamboat Springs, CO.
Not the falls, but just as pretty!
Final Thoughts
This is great hike in Colorado for anyone looking for a moderate physical challenge, varied terrain, and spectacular scenery. There is also the Zirkel Wilderness, which is amazing too.
